The Best Eyeshadow Colors for Green Eyes

To understand how to compliment green eyes, we will first review some color theory. In the color wheel, you’ll see that green is across from pink and purple. I know what you’re thinking: “I can’t wear pink eyeshadow!” Think of pink tinted colors like rich plums, corals, and berries.
Purples also look gorgeous on green eyes! Colors across from each other on the color wheel are called “complementary colors” and are amazing for helping your eye color stand out.
This custom palette is perfect for those green eyed babes out there! It has rich plum colors in it to enhance your eye color, while including several neutrals to keep this daytime appropriate.
PURPLE EYESHADOW:
Purples generally look flattering on everyone- no matter your hair, eye, or skin color. If you’re afraid of wearing colorful eyeshadows, apply just a bit along the lash-line for a pop of color. My favorite shades are Back to the Fuchsia and Eternally Grapeful as they’re rich in color and blend easily into neutrals for a complete look.
PINK & PLUM EYESHADOW:
Soft pinks like Cupcake and Cotton Candy work well for blending above the crease for a soft daytime appropriate look, while colors like Bitten and Getting Figgy With It can add depth to a smokey eye.
Here’s some additional tips for green eyes:
- If your eyes look a bit more Hazel than green, these same colors work but you can also add silvers to the lid for some contrast or greens to make your hazel eyes turn more green.
- The best neutrals for green eyes tend to be cool toned like Latte as Usual or Clean Slate.
- Since hazel and green eyes can vary in color, adding green to the waterline can enhance them also. Just make sure to smudge a bit of eyeshadow under the lower lash-line to keep this from looking too harsh.
